Unplanned is best!!

Yesterday was a very nice day.  It wasn't hot,but it was sunny and a great day for garden chores. Around 3 or so, hubby and I popped over to the supermarket to grab some
fresh fruit and a few "odds 'n' ends".

On our way back home, we dropped in to visit my niece and her hubby.  He had just returned from a 3-week work assignment in Abu Dhabi.

It's true, what they say, sometimes the best times are those totally unplanned.
My niece and I strolled about in her yard, and watered some plants.while the
guys did a little work in the greenhouse.

They insisted that we stay, and we had an awesome unplanned BBQ, and spent a beautiful
Saturday evening sitting around, having a "time"on the back deck ..................

A stroll around Bowring Park

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves....

I guess you can see where I spent most of my time on this visit to the park.

I'm not sure which I enjoy more....watching the ducks and swans or watching the little children watching the ducks and swans.  Sometimes the simplest thing can bring so much pleasure.
The awe and wonder on the faces of little kids feeding the ducks and looking at the swans is simply magical!!  Too bad we can't bottle that feeling and give it away to anyone who needs it--it puts you in a wonderful peaceful place.

I can't wait until our little granddaughter is big enough to bring down there.

Happy Canada Day!!

I've been away far too long.  Things have been busy and very hectic.  I was enrolled in a course, which is now completed, so I'm looking forward to some summer stuff.

In addition, our beautiful baby granddaughter is now 4 1/2 months old, and we are addicted to her!  We go visit every chance we get, or they come visit Grammy & Papa.  Thank goodness,we live only 15 minutes away!!

I wish you all a Happy Canada Day, and I hope you enjoy the photo I chose for this post.  I took this in London, England about four years ago. It's of the Canadian Embassy in London, and I remember being so excited and proud when I saw those Canadian flags, so far away from home.

Cheers!

Majestic May Night Sky

Last night was just glorious.  The temperature was in the high teens and the sunset was amazing.  We were sitting on our back deck and I just had to go inside and grab my camera.

Here's what I got.......

Hoping for many more nights like that in the upcoming months of summer.

Things are done slightly different these days......

On a walk a few evenings ago, I caught a glimpse of these old pieces of farming equipment.....

Although I realize that farming of any kind is hard work, it made me think that things
sure have come a long, long way.
