Crab Tarts

We had a nice chilly day here on Monday and I spied one little can of crabmeat in the pantry, so I thought I'd make some crab tarts.  These are one of my favourites for Christmas time.  They freeze well so I usually make a couple dozen and keep them in the freezer.  It makes things so much simpler during the busy festive season----just take them out of the freezer and pop them in the oven for 10-15 minutes and serve.  I always make a batch of these when we get fresh crab in the summer, but now I'm back to using store-bought, but they are still simply delicious.

Here's my recipe.....

Crab Tarts

 2 eggs

1/2 cup milk

¼ cup softened cream cheese

1 1/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese

2 cans crabmeat--drained (1 cup of fresh crabmeat)

2 tbsp green onion (finely diced)

2 tbsp finely diced red or green pepper

1/4 tsp worchestershire sauce

Dash of salt & pepper

Combine all ingredients and spoon into unbaked pastry cups (3/4 full)

Bake at 350* for 20 minutes

Makes 2 dozen appetizers

NOTE*******
I made up a half batch of this recipe with the one can of crabmeat.
here's how mine turned out---have a look..................................

These are quick, simple,  and delicious!!!
Cheers

  2. Yes---these are like a mini-quiche. I used half of everything in the recipe. Good Luck and enjoy!
