It's April 27.....and another 15 cm of snow!!

After last Wednesday's record-breaking 49 cm of snow, most people are more
than ready for winter to be over.
But, alas!!!
Look what we woke up to this morning.....

Another 15 cm of snow.
Hubby had to blow out the driveway so I could drive to work.
The conditions were so bad, practically everything in the city had a delayed opening.
Even Metro Bus was pulled off the roads until 10 am!
By the time I left for work, the skies were getting blue and it was almost 3 degrees Celsius.

Barbecue, anyone??

Oh well, as they say here in Newfoundland....
"if you don't like the weather, wait a couple of hours"

Temperature went up to 8 degrees.
No wonder all the snow melted!!

I snapped this shot of the driveway when I got home from work around 5 pm........

Cheers

Fog rolling in to Flatrock

After the big storm on Wednesday, it's nice to see the sun again.

I went for a good long stroll this afternoon and took a few photos.  I drive by this little pond every time I go to the supermarket.........
I also thought you all would enjoy seeing how the fog was hovering just offshore today.....

The houses right along the shore did have to contend with fog all afternoon,  You can barely make out the homes on the hills.....
I feel very blessed to be living in such a beautiful place.

Cheers

Snow Day

Oh well...it happens every year in our neck of the woods.  We get a few warm-ish days, get outside with our rakes and wheelbarrows, and start to make plans for spring when---BAM!!!!  Snowstorm!!

Reports on the CBC weather site state that the snowfall started around 5:30 am today.  As of 4:30 pm, St. John's airport reported accumulation of 37 cm of snowfall with northerly winds gusting at times to 104 km/hour.  Definitely a stay inside kind of day.

I had the day off due to the storm  smiley face simple purple small clip art

I made cookies, did laundry, started a new book, drank some wine and had a nap-----What an awesome day!!!  I also took a few pictures from the various warm and cozy vantage points inside my house. Looking down to our back garden this morning, it's hard to imagine the grapes and tomatoes that we grow during the summer in that little greenhouse.

All the windows on the front of our house are completely iced up...

At times today, it was not possible to see to the end of the front yard.....

No birds singing in my trees today..

Oh well...here's the CBC forecast for tonight and tomorrow....

Cheers
