I am from Gambo, NL, located on the east coast of Canada, in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. My hometown of Gambo was once divided into three smaller communities, known as Middle Brook, Dark Cove & Gambo. I grew up in Dark Cove, and absolutely love to cook and bake, so I thought what better name could there be for my first blog than 'My Dark Cove Pantry'. Even though I now live in Flatrock, and now have a new pantry, it will always be 'My Dark Cove Pantry'.
You live in an awesome province. I have Newfoundland on my bucket list, hardest part will be deciding what month would be best. I've always wanted to be there for the George Street Festival and then I found the mummers interesting so that would be a good time to be there. But now that I have been watching the ice bergs I think that would be the most spectacular time to visit.
Any time is great, with the exception of the dead of winter which is usually January to the end of March....or April.....or sometimes May, as you could clearly see from my "Snow in May" post ---ha ha ha!!..If you are a winter activity person, then those months would be best.
There is pretty much something awesome to do any time of year here in Newfoundland & Labrador. If you ever do decide to come to our province, you'll have to let me know.
