Take a look.......
This was my first time doing this portion of the trail. It was so nice to get out in the fresh air and sunshine and enjoy the magnificent scenery.
Hope you all have a great week.
Cheers
:)
I am from Gambo, NL, located on the east coast of Canada, in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. My hometown of Gambo was once divided into three smaller communities, known as Middle Brook, Dark Cove & Gambo. I grew up in Dark Cove, and absolutely love to cook and bake, so I thought what better name could there be for my first blog than 'My Dark Cove Pantry'. Even though I now live in Flatrock, and now have a new pantry, it will always be 'My Dark Cove Pantry'.
What a beautiful spot for a hike. It looks so rugged and enticing... and so rich with history, to boot!
ReplyDeleteThanks Hilary!!
DeleteI sure would like to hike there and see those sights for myself.
ReplyDeleteIn answer to the comment on my blog.
I think the pomegranate will be tasty but it really is such a pain to peal..fingers and everything gets stained.
My legs are screaming just looking at those stairs, but the scenery is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteA grand day in a wonderful place.
ReplyDeleteIt looks enticing to me.
ReplyDeleteThe water looks beautiful. Also the red berries in the last picture. How great to be able to go on trails like this and enjoy open space, nature and water.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteI just came across your blog and have had a lot of enjoyment reading it. You have really captured a piece of Newfoundland in so many ways. My grandparents were from NFLD and my great grandfather was a telegraph linesman foreman and helped Marconi set up his original tower on Signal Hill. I have only had the opportunity to visit NFLD once so far and it was amazing. I also love to take beautiful photos of nature around me and art. Are you self-taught on the camera, or did you take a course?
Thank you Cynthia, so glad you enjoyed it! I am self taught on the camera, but wish I knew more about the technical aspect of it.
ReplyDeleteI have to say it..... Been there, done that!!! I've hiked that trail quite a few times, and I love it. I love the scenery, the rocks, the cliffs, the sea. I spent my first 20 years living by the sea (in UK not NFLD) so I love to visit the rocky coast. Makes me feel at home. I always add a stone to the cairn at Ladies Lookout. Ensures I'll be back again one day.
ReplyDeleteLast time I was there I saw whales in Cuckold's Cove.
That is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!! My goodness you have that place nearby to see? I have a love for the sea ...it is magical, there is something like a spiritual connection for me. Thanks for sharing this post!
ReplyDeleteI live in a beautiful town--right on the ocean, just like that!!
ReplyDeleteIt is spellbinding.
I take the longer way to or from work at least twice a week, just to be able to look out over the Atlantic Ocean. I have posted several photos here on my blog over the past year.
I am going to look back at your photos again Kathleen! It's indescribable the feeling that comes from the ocean.
