Evening stroll overlooking the ocean in Flatrock

Here's what you're likely to see if you take a stroll around the ocean area of Flatrock these days...

Seagulls hanging around, waiting for the last of the fishers
to return with their last catch of the day.

These guys have reservations for the choice seats...

The fishers clean their catch here, and the seagulls get to feast!

What a pretty sight this dory was, as the sun was beginning to set ...

Colors in my Flatrock Garden

After a very busy weekend, I took some time this morning, before my morning walk,
to stroll around my garden, camera in hand.

The weather has been lovely and all the shrubs and flowers are flourishing.......

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Cows and Wild Roses

I took today and Monday off, to have an extra long weekend.
We are having our 2nd Annual Ward-Fudge Garden Party on Sunday, so I
have lots of preparations to do, and I hate being all rushed.

This morning, I got up early to take a hike out around the ocean trails.
(Driving home from work yesterday, I noticed a iceberg pretty close to the shoreline)
I took my camera in case I could get some good shots of it.  No such luck!!
The winds had changed overnight, and though still quite visible, I didn't bother
trying to photograph it.
Instead I decided to take a stroll  on a different trail,  and I wasn't disappointed!

There was a bunch of very happy and contented-looking cows in a pasture........

On my way back, I came across these lovely wild roses, peeking out
through a beautiful old fence....

The smell of these roses was almost intoxicating, and they looked so very beautiful!!

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Unplanned is best!!

Yesterday was a very nice day.  It wasn't hot,but it was sunny and a great day for garden chores. Around 3 or so, hubby and I popped over to the supermarket to grab some
fresh fruit and a few "odds 'n' ends".

On our way back home, we dropped in to visit my niece and her hubby.  He had just returned from a 3-week work assignment in Abu Dhabi.

It's true, what they say, sometimes the best times are those totally unplanned.
My niece and I strolled about in her yard, and watered some plants.while the
guys did a little work in the greenhouse.

They insisted that we stay, and we had an awesome unplanned BBQ, and spent a beautiful
Saturday evening sitting around, having a "time"on the back deck ..................

A stroll around Bowring Park

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves....

I guess you can see where I spent most of my time on this visit to the park.

I'm not sure which I enjoy more....watching the ducks and swans or watching the little children watching the ducks and swans.  Sometimes the simplest thing can bring so much pleasure.
The awe and wonder on the faces of little kids feeding the ducks and looking at the swans is simply magical!!  Too bad we can't bottle that feeling and give it away to anyone who needs it--it puts you in a wonderful peaceful place.

I can't wait until our little granddaughter is big enough to bring down there.

Cheers
