There were lots of beautiful old buildings around the town center in the waterfront area......
....like the Dover town hall......
A breathtaking view of the castle from the beach at night......
The famous White Cliffs of Dover were quite a sight..........
Of course, anywhere you can buy fresh steamed seafood---ready to eat--is a great place in hubby's eye. He actually went back to this great little seafood stall on the pier three times in two days.....
This was the sight we saw as we sailed out of Dover..........
The seaport of Dover was so beautiful and relaxing......a perfect start to a perfect cruise.
Cheers
:o)
Great pictures, Dover looks like a great place to go. That door way in the 1st picture, so cool. The momument is one of the nicest I've seen. Their beach is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove that last photo! Your London pictures are beautiful also:)

Dover is just a hop, skip and a jump away from me, well 40 minutes driving down the motorway. It's great to see the town through a tourist's eye. It's a shame you didn't have time to visit the castle, it is brilliant, great history and was also used in WWII. Have a wonderful cruise.
ReplyDeleteWow Sally...imagine we were just an hour away from each other. We loved every part of England that we saw....especially enjoyed the train down to Dover from London.
DeleteOh that door in the first photo is so beautiful. Sea food is so marvelous, we all adore it in our house. We lived in Chile - South America for almost 3 years and the sea food there was soooo good. Why did you chose Dover versus other area of England ? Just curious, maybe you know some travel secret I don't know :) Hugs and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWe went to Dover because that is port from which our cruise-ship departed for a 12-night tour of the Baltic Sea. Please stayed tuned, I will give a small recap of each of the majestic ports that we visited----starting with Copenhagen, Denmark!!
