It was our first attempt at cucumbers, and they started out pretty modestly....
but they prevailed...........
So, this past weekend, hubby harvested our cucumber crop, and I had just
enough to make a batch of "Bread and Butter" Pickles....
Was it worth it? Oh yeah...........
Click here for my recipe, from a previous post.
Cheers
:)
Oh, yummy!
ReplyDeleteYour cucumbers looks so healthy! I have failed on growing cucumber this season.
ReplyDeleteBet they tasted good. I had some home made BnB pickles from a friend last week, but I have never made them myself. I've done dills, and they turned out really well. It's great to have a greenhouse.

Oh Kathleen, fresh, garden grown cucumbers are such a treat! You lucky girl. Maybe next year I should really try to grown some. By the way, the pickles are so worth it! I just canned 9 quart jars of organic, roasted tomato sauce and told my 80 million year old mother, who immediately said, "wait a minute, can;t you buy 3 quart jars of organic pasta sauce at Costco for $10?" SO not the point mom!
ReplyDeleteI picked the last of the cucumbers this past Friday here in PEI. I made these pickles over the weekend. They are delicious. This recipe is a keeper for sure. Thanks Kathleen.
ReplyDeleteWhau, those cucumbers sure grew well! Your pickles looks beautiful. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
