From Petite Greenhouse Cucumbers to Delicious "Bread and Butter" Pickles....

It was our first attempt at cucumbers, and they started out pretty modestly....

 but they prevailed...........

So, this past weekend, hubby harvested our cucumber crop, and I had just
enough to make a batch of "Bread and Butter" Pickles....

Was it worth it?  Oh  yeah...........

Click here for my recipe, from a previous post.

Cheers
:)

  2. Bet they tasted good. I had some home made BnB pickles from a friend last week, but I have never made them myself. I've done dills, and they turned out really well. It's great to have a greenhouse.

  6. Oh Kathleen, fresh, garden grown cucumbers are such a treat! You lucky girl. Maybe next year I should really try to grown some. By the way, the pickles are so worth it! I just canned 9 quart jars of organic, roasted tomato sauce and told my 80 million year old mother, who immediately said, "wait a minute, can;t you buy 3 quart jars of organic pasta sauce at Costco for $10?" SO not the point mom!

  7. I picked the last of the cucumbers this past Friday here in PEI. I made these pickles over the weekend. They are delicious. This recipe is a keeper for sure. Thanks Kathleen.
